The purpose of this course is to provide a concise overview of the Torah. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand the covenant structure of the first five books of the Bible, distinguish different categories of Law and apply the Torah in the New Covenant order. As a result of this study, students will appreciate the superiority of the Torah to other cultures of the time. The course begins with an overview of the covenant structure, beginning with Genesis as a background for Mosaic covenant material, as well as its expression in Deuteronomy, Leviticus and Numbers €¦and the New Covenant. Specific teachings on both Universal and Jewish specific law follow, including accommodations such as polygamy and slavery.
