Instructor Michael L. Brown, Ph.D.
Course contains 16 sessions of about 25 minutes each.
This course provides a response to the principle Jewish objections to the Messianic credentials of Jesus of Nazareth. These include general, historical, theological, Messianic prophecy, New Testament and traditional Jewish objections. The goal is to sensitize the student to the reasoning behind the objections and provide reasonable, literate and biblical responses to the principle objections Jewish people offer in resistance to Jesus. Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to understand the primary categories of Jewish objections to Jesus; demonstrate sensitivity to the Jewish rejection of Jesus on both an intellectual and theological level; articulate the main lines of historical, theological and scriptural objections to Jesus; respond to these objections in a factual and responsible way; and present the biblical and historic witness of Jesus as Messiah in light of these objections.
